Joel - 5 weeks, 5 days

Joel seems to be coming out of whatever he had. Hopefully, he continues to be stable and breathe easier. He is definitely getting his personality back! He pulled the prongs from the CPAP out so many times that they put him back on the high-flow instead. He's starting on continuous feeds now, instead of the bolus feeds. In all, it's a big improvement from a couple of days ago. Keep it up, Joel!

Tonight was supposed to be bath night. When I got there, however, the nurse discovered that his IV had failed, and she had to put in a new one. After all that stress, his bath was put off until later. We talked for a little while, played with the pacifier, and sang a couple of songs. He calmed down pretty quickly for me! (sugar water on the pacifier helps, too). He was getting his dinner and resting nicely when I left.

Mom, why do they keep sticking my arm?

It's hard to stretch with this armboard on!

This food is making me sleepy...
